MYT (Make Your Transition) is committed to protecting your personal data and respecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights under applicable data protection law.
MYT is operated by Paul James Nolan ("MYT", "we", "us", "our"). Our platform is available at transition.studio.
This policy is governed by the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

WHO WE ARE AND OUR ROLE
For the purposes of UK GDPR, MYT acts as the data controller in respect of the personal data it collects from users of the transition.studio website and platform. This means we are responsible for deciding how and why your data is used.

WHAT DATA WE COLLECT
We collect and process the following categories of personal data:
2.1 Account and Identity Data
- Your name and email address, provided when you register or purchase a membership or course.
2.2 Payment Data
- Billing information including card type and last four digits. Full card details are processed directly and securely by Stripe and are not stored by MYT.
2.3 Usage and Platform Data
- Information about how you interact with our platform, including content accessed, course progress, and login activity.
2.4 Communications Data
- Records of emails or support messages you send to us.
2.5 Technical and Analytics Data
- IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, time spent on site, and referral source. This data is collected via Google Analytics 4 (GA4) using cookies. See Section 9 (Cookie Policy) for more detail.
2.6 Marketing Data
- Where you have consented, your contact details may be used to send you marketing and educational communications.

HOW WE USE YOUR DATA
We use your personal data for the following purposes, and only where we have a lawful basis to do so:
3.1 Delivering the Service (Contractual Necessity)
- To create and manage your account.
- To process payments and grant access to your purchased content.
- To send transactional emails including purchase confirmations, access notifications, and renewal reminders.
3.2 Customer Support (Contractual Necessity / Legitimate Interests)
- To respond to your enquiries and resolve issues.
3.3 Analytics and Platform Improvement (Legitimate Interests)
- To understand how our platform is used, identify issues, and improve the experience for all users. This is done using anonymised or aggregated data where possible.
3.4 Marketing Communications (Consent or Legitimate Interests)
- To send you emails about new content, offers, or updates relevant to your membership. You may opt out of marketing emails at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any such email or by emailing support@transition.studio.
3.5 Legal Compliance (Legal Obligation)
- To comply with our legal obligations, including tax and financial record-keeping requirements.

WHO WE SHARE YOUR DATA WITH
MYT does not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following third-party service providers, and only to the extent necessary for them to provide their services to us:
4.1 Kajabi
- Our platform and course delivery provider. Kajabi hosts member accounts, course content, and processes membership logic. Kajabi stores your name, email address, and membership data on our behalf.

4.2 Stripe
- Our payment processor. Stripe handles all payment transactions securely. Stripe receives your billing details and processes payments on our behalf.

4.3 Google Analytics 4 (GA4)
- Our website analytics tool, operated by Google LLC. GA4 collects anonymised usage data to help us understand how our website is used. Data may be processed on Google's servers, including outside the UK.

4.4 ManyChat
- We may use ManyChat to manage certain automated messaging and communications. ManyChat may process your name and contact information to deliver messages you have opted in to receive.

All third-party processors are required to handle your data in accordance with applicable data protection law and are subject to appropriate data processing agreements.

INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS
Some of our third-party service providers (including Google and ManyChat) may process your data outside the UK or European Economic Area (EEA). Where this occurs, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the use of Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the relevant regulatory authority, or reliance on an adequacy decision.

DATA RETENTION
We retain your personal data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this policy, or as required by law:
6.1 Account data: Retained for the duration of your membership and for up to 7 years after account closure, in line with UK financial record-keeping requirements.
6.2 Payment records: Retained for 7 years to comply with HMRC obligations.
6.3 Communications data: Support correspondence is retained for up to 3 years after the last communication.
6.4 Analytics data: Anonymised analytics data collected via GA4 is retained in accordance with our GA4 data retention settings (default 14 months).
6.5 Where you request deletion of your data, we will action this subject to any legal obligation to retain certain records.

YOUR RIGHTS UNDER UK GDPR
You have the following rights in relation to your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at support@transition.studio. We will respond within one calendar month.
7.1 Right of Access: You have the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you (a Subject Access Request).
7.2 Right to Rectification: You have the right to request that we correct any inaccurate or incomplete data we hold about you.
7.3 Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): You have the right to request that we delete your personal data, subject to our legal obligations to retain certain records.
7.4 Right to Restriction: You have the right to ask us to limit how we use your data in certain circumstances, for example while a dispute about accuracy is resolved.
7.5 Right to Data Portability: You have the right to receive a copy of your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format so that it can be transferred to another service.
7.6 Right to Object: You have the right to object to the processing of your data where we rely on legitimate interests as our lawful basis. You also have an unconditional right to object to processing for direct marketing purposes at any time.
7.7 Rights Related to Automated Decision-Making: You have the right not to be subject to decisions made solely by automated processing where those decisions have a legal or similarly significant effect on you. MYT does not currently carry out such automated decision-making.
7.8 If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.

SECURITY
We take the security of your personal data seriously. We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. Payment data is handled exclusively by Stripe, which is PCI-DSS compliant.
No method of transmission over the internet is entirely secure. While we do our best to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

COOKIE POLICY
9.1 What are cookies? Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help the website function correctly and allow us to understand how visitors use our site.
9.2 Cookies we use:
- Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4): We use GA4 to collect anonymised information about how visitors use our website, such as the pages visited and time spent on site. GA4 uses cookies to collect this data. No personally identifiable information is shared with Google through GA4 unless you are logged in to a Google account.
9.3 Managing cookies: You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Disabling analytics cookies will not affect your ability to use the MYT platform, but it will limit our ability to improve the service based on usage data.
9.4 By continuing to use our website, you consent to our use of analytics cookies as described above.

CHILDREN'S DATA
MYT's platform is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe a child has provided us with their data, please contact us at support@transition.studio and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Where we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or by a prominent notice on our website. The date at the top of this policy reflects when it was last updated.
