Finally, I got to remix Nick Warren, and I'll show YOU how I did it
Sep 02, 2026Nick and I have known each other for years. We've talked, crossed paths, followed each other's work — but until now, we'd never actually worked on anything together.
That changes on September 25th, when my remix of his track "Waves" is released.
The daybefore that, on September 24th, I'm walking through the whole thing live on Zoom — the arrangement, the sound design, every decision that shaped the final version. Not a lecture. A working session, with real time built in for your questions.
Why this one's different
I've done plenty of teaching content over the years, but this is the first time I've had the chance to break down a track built from someone else's original — someone whose career I've genuinely respected for two decades.
Nick's spent that time at the top of the industry: tour DJ for Massive Attack early on, a residency at Cream, eight mixes for Global Underground and one for Renaissance, a member of the acclaimed Way Out West, and he currently runs A&R at Hope Recordings. His bi-monthly Soundgarden radio show and his mixes for John Digweed's Transitions have introduced a generation of producers to a wider audience.
Working on "Waves" meant getting inside a track built by someone with that much craft behind it — and that's exactly what I want to show you, start to finish.
What we'll cover
Arrangement, decoded — how "Waves" is structured from intro to outro, and the reasoning behind every section change.
The sound design — the specific tools, techniques and decisions behind the key sounds in the remix.
Live Q&A — bring your own questions. There's real time set aside to work through them, not just a five-minute afterthought.
