Xander Seddon's new track, "Chapter Two," just hit #1 on Beatport's Progressive House releases chart — and landed in the overall Top 10. If you've been following his journey with MYT, this one means more than a chart position.

Six years, one breakthrough

Xander's been part of the MYT community for six years. Not six weeks of hype, not a lucky single — six years of feedback sessions, revisions, and the slow, unglamorous work of actually getting better. He's candid about it: he came in with nothing, and what got him from zero to a Beatport #1 was the structure and the standard the community holds people to.

That's not a small thing to say out loud in an industry that loves overnight stories. There wasn't one here. There was a long one, done properly.

The track almost didn't happen the way it did

"Chapter Two" started as a way to get unstuck from a different project — a 30-minute session, nothing precious about it. The vocal in that first version was an EDM sample Xander later realised he couldn't actually release; the rights weren't his to use. Instead of shelving the idea, he called a friend — Guy, an opera singer — and had the vocal re-sung from scratch.

From there it went through session after session of feedback, each pass sharpening something. That's the part that doesn't show up in a Beatport chart position: the number of times a track gets pulled apart and put back together before it's ready. Xander credits that process directly — the ear training, the technical grounding in sound design, the community holding a high bar — for getting "Chapter Two" to where it needed to be.

What this actually proves

It's easy to talk about artist development in the abstract. This is what it looks like in practice: someone puts in real years, gets real feedback, makes something built to last rather than something built to trend — and it works. Not instead of talent. Alongside it.

Xander's now sitting at 2.5 million Spotify streams, with more vocal tracks finishing and new instrumental work on the way. This is one chapter, not the whole story.
